Ubuntu Partner Repository Navigate to Local Server

Update paket sun-java6 melalui repositori partner lokal
Update package sun-java6 through local partner repository

If you use sun-java6 packages on Ubuntu, of course you already know that since Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx, the package has been moved from the multiverse repository to the repository partners. By default, the repository of this partner will be directed to "Lucid http://archive.canonical.com/ partners. "

Problems began to appear when I update the package sun-java6 through that server. Download speeds that I got only about 10-10 KB / s. After I do the Googling, I found this post, which informs that was the repository Goat's UI already has a copy (mirror) to Ubuntu partner repository. How do I direct the partner repository default to Goat?

Here are the steps: (through the GUI, not the terminal)

    1. Open Synaptic Package Manager via the menu System | Administration | Synaptic Package Manager.
    2. Open the Settings | Repositories.
    3. Open Software Other tab, then uncheck the entry "Lucid http://archive.canonical.com/ partner", then click "Add ".
  1. Pengaturan repositori partner
         Settings partner repository
           Settings partner repository
        4. Insert the following entries in the field that appears:
           Lucid http://kambing.ui.ac.id/ubuntu-partner/ partner deb
        5. Click the "Add Source" and then click "Close ".
        6. Click the "Reload" at top left to update all the package index.

Now you can download and update packages in partner repository Goat (including sun-java6) through a local connection (IIX) which of course is much faster than accessing the default repository partners who are abroad. Hope helps! ^ ^
